My Profile and Personal Reiki Journey
By profession, I am a Biomedical Research Scientist with 35 years scientific experience. My journey into Reiki came after returning from Vienna, Austria, 18 years ago and meeting some wonderfully enlightened Reiki friends who introduced me to this wonderful form of healing. I learned Reiki 1, Reiki 2 and the Master level (Reiki 3), now with 15 years experience. I studied BSc Biochemistry at Glasgow University followed by my PhD in Bioengineering at Strathclyde University. I was fortunate to work for 23 years in Research and Development in healthcare, across the UK, USA, and Europe and latterly the last 12 years in Clinical Research trials working in the medical/healthcare towards the development of new drugs. As a Scientist, I have always questioned and sought answers as to how does reiki work, why do people feel better and calm afterwards and more so what are the medical benefits of having a Reiki session. I have been helping clients from all ages with a number of medical conditions, for example; cystic fibrosis, sciatica, depression, anxiety and stress, nausea and vomiting following kidney dialysis, frozen shoulder, chronic back pain, emotional issues, panic attacks, diabetes, high blood pressure, migraines, to name a few. All felt so much more relaxed, calmer and pain-free after reiki. In my personal life, I had the chance to give my late brother reiki before he passed over. Later, a spiritual healer received a message from my late brother saying that he felt the healing energy and it helped him pass over without any fear. This was my greatest joy.
